The K9 Unit is considered one of the most important means of support for effective inspections at Bahrain Customs Affairs since its establishment in 2007.
Dogs are trained at high levels of training in the K9 Department so that they have the ability to detect drugs, firearms, explosives and many other dangerous materials. They are also trained to discover objects hidden in containers, luggage, vehicles, packages or items in passengers’ possession. In addition, the K9 Department officials are trained to respond quickly, covering all ports as quickly as possible, and
have the ability to deal in a safe and efficient manner with all conditions.
The trained dogs and the people dealing with them from the K9 Department achieved great success, as they managed seizures in many cases of drug smuggling and banned substances that were hidden in a professional manner.
