HE Interior Minister praises Customs Affairs role

His Excellency Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa visited the Customs Affairs on Tuesday. He was welcomed by Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and a number of directors-general and directors of the Customs Affairs.  

HE the Interior Minister congratulated Shaikh Ahmed for the Royal trust reposed in him with his appointment as Customs President and wished him the best in serving the citizens and the nation. 

The Customs President expressed his pride for the Royal trust and thanked HE the Interior Minister for his directives to improve customs operations.

HE the Interior Minister also praised the efforts of the Customs Affairs personnel, urging them to show honesty and sincerity while performing their duties and put security as the top priority. He stressed the importance to maintaining the high level of customs procedures at all ports and exits, adding that the department represented the country’s gateway protected by a new customs inspection system.

The Customs President appreciated HE the Interior Minister’s visit and highlighted the leadership’s support  to the Customs Affairs, the care of HE the Interior Minister and the dedication of its personnel to protect society from banned and restricted material and back economic development.

He said the coming phase held many visions, ideas and goals and as part of the directives of HE the Interior Minister, a full assessment of procedures, services, human resources and preparations will be carried out, to be compared with successful experiences in the East and West.

He said that a comprehensive strategy ws expected to be implemented as part of the celebrations of the Bahrain Police Day and the National Day towards the end of 2016.

HE the Interior Minister was then given a visual presentation on the history of customs and the efforts to develop customs services.
