The Directorate General of Customs in cooperation with the UK Customs, held a training course “Female Search of Persons”, from 23rd to 26th April 2007, in the training hall at the Main Customs building.  Customs Officers and Officials from the Ministry of Interior participated in this course.

The training was focused on the following:

1. Use of latest techniques for Inspection, and also dealing and questioning the passenger, in case of suspicion.

2. The Instructors detailed and explained the methods of Customs Inspection of passengers which is followed by UK Customs. They also gave case examples of passengers held in UK Customs, during inspection.

3. The last day, was summarized on practical demonstration of using the new techniques at Bahrain Customs inspection section, at the Airport.

This course comes within the Directorates strategy in developing and enhancing the staff skills.
