Bahrain Customs in its earnest desire for modernization by upgrading the skills of its staff has invited a team of British Customs officials to visit Bahrain Customs from 19th November to 14th December 2006. Sixty of our Customs Officers from various Customs departments are attending the following two courses:

  1. Container targeting and examination – 19th to 30th November

  2. Passenger targeting and Inspection – 3rd to 14 December

This team will train our Customs Officials with the advanced methods of detecting restricted and prohibited goods with the existing scanning and X-Ray machines. The use of web sites and internet for obtaining data will also be explained. The team will also share the experience of UK Customs Officials in this field.

This visit comes under the various training programs which the Directorate General of Customs has scheduled to hold during the year 2006, in order to share and exchange latest developments and technologies from advanced countries.
